Summary

Numerical model of a solar chimney power plant used to assess how the porosity of the soil acting as heat storage, the turbine pressure drop and solar irradiance affect power output, efficiency and exergy loss. Power peaks at an optimal pressure drop; stronger radiation raises output while slightly lowering efficiency, and low-porosity ground in sunny locations proves most favourable.
