Summary

Field measurements on two roof solar collector units fitted to a small house compared a screened outlet against an unscreened reference, testing mosquito nets, grilles and nylon filters. Airflow fell as open area shrank, following a linear trend; a nylon filter alone cut flow by about 8% and combined screens by about 18%, with smaller losses in strong wind, while ventilation stayed adequate.
