Summary

A low-cost, lightweight and transportable small-scale solar chimney power plant was designed, built and tested to supply electricity for lighting and communication to nomadic herders without grid access. Design parameters were tuned for peak theoretical output, and a candidate site in northern Mongolia was assessed in summer 2011.
