Summary
An air turbine for solar chimney power plants is designed by adapting the lift-based method used for axial-flow water turbine and pump impellers, with the pressure drop ratio chosen for best output. CFD runs on the Spanish prototype show peak power near 53.5 kW, about 30% above the original turbine, with less sensitivity to rotational speed and a broader efficient speed range under stronger sunlight.
