Summary
Transient simulations of a large solar chimney power plant supplied with extra waste heat at the collector–chimney junction track its round-the-clock behaviour. A sufficiently strong heat input boosts generation markedly: at 2 GW, daily electricity rises by about 120% and the relative peak-to-valley power swing halves, most noticeably when sunshine is weak, whereas small heat inputs barely change performance.
