Summary
Simulations examine a building cooling concept in which a solar chimney drives air through a dew-point evaporative cooler built into the ceiling, aimed at hot, humid climates where chimney ventilation alone falls short. A thermal network model gives the airflow and a heat and mass transfer model the cooling; the system covers roughly 10% of an office's perimeter cooling load.
