Summary
A theoretical model, checked against measurements from the Manzanares prototype, is used to find both the tallest chimney that still avoids negative buoyancy and the height giving peak power. Under a standard atmospheric lapse rate, power peaks at about 102 kW for a 615 m chimney, below the maximum height. Both heights grow with larger collectors, and the maximum height rises with lapse rate.
