Summary

Laboratory tests on a small roof-mounted solar ventilation unit, with heating and wind controlled separately, compared two collector tilts across 120 operating conditions. Wind raised airflow by about 35% in one design but lowered it by a similar amount in the other, even though buoyancy-to-wind ratios were comparable. Geometry and inlet opening therefore decide whether wind helps or hinders ventilation.
