Summary
Collector, chimney and turbine of a solar chimney power plant are modelled together and solved by iteration to estimate electrical output and to assess how irradiation and plant geometry influence it. Once checked against data from a real prototype, the model is applied to large commercial plants, showing that plant size, the turbine pressure-drop factor and the incoming solar heat are the main levers for better performance.
