Summary

Simulations based on the Spanish prototype examine how the design of an unpowered wind pressure wheel mounted on a wind-supercharged solar chimney's outlet affects suction and output. Blade angle, airfoil shape and spiral blades were varied; a spiral blade with 72° helicity performed best, adding roughly 15 kW of shaft power through stronger negative pressure at the chimney exit.
