Summary
Couples an underground air tunnel with a solar chimney for passive indoor climate control, and uses a model of the combined system to compare how tunnel length, inlet-to-chimney area ratio, chimney height and soil type affect indoor temperature. Soil type has the strongest effect. A tunnel three times the room length in marble soil cools incoming air by about 4 °C.
