Summary
Two-dimensional control-volume simulations of turbulent buoyant flow in a wall solar chimney with one wall heated and the opposite wall adiabatic, part of a small test room with chimneys facing four orientations. After six turbulence models were compared, the realizable k–ε model was chosen and checked against measurements. Velocity, temperature and average Nusselt number are reported along the channel, with a grid-resolution check.
