Summary
Simulations and open-air tests compare four collector shapes (convergent, half convergent, divergent, half divergent) on a small solar chimney power plant whose chimney widens at a fixed 2° angle. The partially convergent collector gave the best performance in both approaches, reaching an airflow speed of about 1.5 m/s and heating the air by roughly 14 K.
