Summary

Surveys two decades of research on solar chimneys used for passive building ventilation, concentrating on how chimney geometry and tilt angle influence airflow performance. Experimental work dominates the literature, though CFD modelling is gaining ground, and the authors conclude that the behaviour of solar chimneys as a ventilation strategy is still incompletely understood.
