Summary
Experiments on a hybrid photovoltaic/solar chimney with a gravel layer placed under the panels as a porous heat-transfer medium. Compared with the gravel-free setup, the porous bed cooled the panels and raised noon electrical output from about 396 W to 448 W, although the chimney's thermal efficiency dropped (about 53% versus 60%).
