Summary
ANSYS Fluent simulations of a solar chimney power plant examine how quarter-circle obstacles placed on the absorber, and how many of them, change the airflow and heat transfer. Exergy efficiency, worked out from the simulated velocity and temperature fields, rises when obstacles are present because they make the flow more turbulent and improve heat transfer.
