Summary
Numerical model of passive room cooling in hot, arid Yazd, Iran, pairing a solar chimney with water sprays at the air inlets and tested on the hottest summer day. A west-facing chimney gave the best airflow, and the sprays lowered mid-room air temperature by 9–14 °C while raising relative humidity by roughly 28–45%, with water use kept to a minimum.
