Summary

CFD simulations in Ansys Fluent model a roof solar chimney for room ventilation in the climate of Kut, Iraq, comparing tilt angles and south- or west-facing orientations. A 45° tilt worked best, and using several 45° chimneys facing both directions raised ventilation rates by about 32% while lowering the average room temperature by around 1.3 °C.
