Numerical investigation on performance of a solar chimney power plant with different absorber configurations Jihen Mahdhi; Ons Ghriss; Yashar Aryanfar; Abdallah Bouabidi; Ali Kecebas; Jorge Luis Garcia-Alcaraz A CFD model of a solar chimney power plant, validated against experimental data, is used to compare sinusoidal, square and triangular absorber shapes with a standard flat absorber. Every modified shape raises the airflow speed at the chimney entrance, and the triangular one raises it the most. The square absorber gives the best thermal efficiency, at about 13.7%.

Summary
A CFD model of a solar chimney power plant, validated against experimental data, is used to compare sinusoidal, square and triangular absorber shapes with a standard flat absorber. Every modified shape raises the airflow speed at the chimney entrance, and the triangular one raises it the most. The square absorber gives the best thermal efficiency, at about 13.7%.
