Summary
Three absorber designs for a solar chimney (a plain plate, combined vertical plates, and a honeycomb structure) are compared for ventilating rural homes in Rajasthan, using year-round ANSYS FLUENT simulations checked against prototypes. Adding the honeycomb changes the airflow and velocity pattern in the chimney, solar intensity strongly governs performance, and indoor temperature gains are examined for May.
