Summary
Outdoor tests in Tikrit, Iraq, on a small solar chimney power plant with a galvanized metal tower compare collectors with and without a transparent glass cover at two periphery heights. Covering the collector raised thermal efficiency from about 10% to nearly 15% and also improved airflow and power output, while the lower 2 cm periphery outperformed the taller one.
