Summary

A small-scale solar chimney power plant was built in Aswan, Egypt, and fitted with an Internet-of-Things monitoring setup that records temperatures, solar irradiance, wind speed, voltage and power in real time. The authors report that IoT-based data collection gives a full view of plant behaviour and could help improve performance on the path toward large-scale deployment.
