Summary
Numerical simulations, checked against reduced-scale experiments, examine how the heights of a room's window and the chimney air inlet jointly affect solar chimney airflow in both natural ventilation and smoke exhaust operation. Placing both openings at the wall's mid-height performs best; window height matters mainly for smoke exhaust, and an empirical model predicts inlet flow during smoke extraction.
