Integration of evaporative cooling technique with solar chimney to improve indoor thermal environment in the New Assiut City, Egypt Amr Sayed Hassan Abdallah; Hiroshi Yoshino; Tomonobu GOTO; Napoleon A. Enteria; Magdy Mohamed Radwan; M Eid A direct evaporative cooling tower is coupled with a solar chimney and modelled as a multi-zone ventilation system in COMIS-TRNSYS, for hot, dry conditions in New Assiut City, Egypt. Driven by solar radiation alone, the combined system provides about 130 m3/h of airflow, meeting the minimum of 2 air changes per hour, and keeps indoor air roughly 10–11.5 °C cooler than outdoors.

Summary
A direct evaporative cooling tower is coupled with a solar chimney and modelled as a multi-zone ventilation system in COMIS-TRNSYS, for hot, dry conditions in New Assiut City, Egypt. Driven by solar radiation alone, the combined system provides about 130 m³/h of airflow, meeting the minimum of 2 air changes per hour, and keeps indoor air roughly 10–11.5 °C cooler than outdoors.
