Summary
Using the Manzanares prototype as a reference, numerical simulations examine how chimney shape, collector diameter and collector height affect airflow and heat transfer in a solar chimney power plant. A divergent chimney gives the highest total heat transfer, a larger collector improves performance with diminishing returns, and raising the collector edge beyond about 3 m brings little further benefit.
