Summary

A three-dimensional finite-volume CFD model is used to test fins and copper-foam composite phase change materials in a sloped rooftop solar chimney with an integrated PV panel. With fins, adding PCM mass improves airflow, ventilation time and electricity output; a paraffin/copper-foam composite roughly doubles ventilation duration and yields about 16% more power than the chimney with PV alone.
