Summary
CFD simulations over a full winter day compare a solar chimney serving a guardroom with and without phase-change material, which stores daytime solar heat and releases it after sunset. Adding the PCM storage keeps the room temperature far more stable and helps sustain natural ventilation airflow when sunlight is absent.
