Abstract
This paper presents an enhanced solar chimney system designed to simultaneously generate electricity and harvest atmospheric water. The concept integrates greenhouse-driven airflow, infrared (IR) thermal augmentation, and engineered condensation surfaces to improve performance beyond conventional solar chimney designs. A key innovation is the incorporation of surface-enhanced condensation using hydrophilic nano-coatings (e.g., graphene oxide) and wettability patterning, combined with optional electrostatic droplet management. An exploratory vortex-enhanced airflow concept is also considered to increase residence time and heat exchange. The study distinguishes between established physical mechanisms and speculative enhancements, providing a realistic framework for hybrid energy–water infrastructure
