Summary
Measurements from a 5 m pilot solar chimney with a square collector, run near Naples for roughly seven months, are analysed to link the induced airflow with irradiance, ambient temperature and humidity. A CFD model then reproduces its thermal and flow behaviour. Insight into velocity, throughput and air residence time is intended to inform chimney design for power generation or pollutant removal.
