Summary

Field measurements in a newly built school, taken before it opened, assess a natural ventilation system that pairs solar chimneys with an underground pit supplying fresh air. A multi-point calibration let a single anemometer estimate mean chimney airflow. Exhaust and supply volumes matched closely, building blocks ventilated similarly, and chimney airflow tracked solar radiation in calm weather but outdoor wind when sunshine was weak.
