Summary

Tests on a small laboratory solar chimney power plant with a water-based heat store examine how water depth in the tank and the spacing between absorber and collector cover affect temperatures and airflow. A water depth of about 6 cm gave the warmest chimney air, whereas widening the collector gap cooled the whole system by weakening natural convection and raising heat losses.
