Summary
Outdoor soak tests on two identical cars parked in direct sunlight, one fitted with a solar chimney, show that the chimney cuts parked-cabin air temperature by up to about 20 °C. The cooler cabin lowers air-conditioning compressor power by roughly 85%, which extends driving range and improves comfort and air quality on entry.
