Summary
A small pilot solar chimney plant was built and instrumented to record air temperatures and velocities at several points in the collector and tower over days with different weather. Greenhouse heating made the collector outlet up to 25 °C warmer than ambient, driving airflow that peaked near 3 m/s in the tower, once a morning temperature inversion at the chimney base had cleared.
