Summary
A solar chimney for building ventilation in Iraq was built and tested with bottom, side, and combined air inlets, alongside unsteady two-dimensional finite-volume simulations exploring solar radiation and tilt angle. The side inlet performed best thermally, and adding paraffin as a phase change material kept the chimney ventilating after sunset; simulated and measured results agreed reasonably well.
