Summary

Field measurements and validated finite-volume simulations assess a solar chimney fitted with a humidifier for evaporative room cooling in Kirkuk, Iraq. Incoming air was cooled by about 5–10 °C from May to August. More water lowers room temperature but raises humidity and reduces airflow, while a wider chimney increases both ventilation and water use. A neural network trained on the CFD results predicts performance accurately.
