Summary
A three-dimensional COMSOL model using k-ε turbulence simulates the airflow, temperature and pressure fields of a small solar chimney power plant prototype built at Ibn Khaldoun University in Tiaret, and its predictions are checked against measurements from the rig. Simulation and experiment agree well, both giving a chimney air speed of about 2.5 m/s and air temperatures of roughly 72 °C.
