Summary

A solar chimney power plant in Irbid, Jordan, is coupled to a nuclear plant's cooling tower so that its waste hot air preheats the collector, raising chimney airflow and allowing round-the-clock operation. Compared with a standalone plant, average monthly output rises from about 26 to 64 MWh of electricity and from roughly 9 to 23 ktons of fresh water.
