Summary

Curved swirl guide vanes fitted inside the collector of a solar chimney power plant lengthen the airflow path so more energy can be harvested without enlarging the site. CFD simulations compare four vane layouts, varying collector diameter and vane count; with eight vanes, mean air speed at the chimney inlet rises by roughly 115% and output power by about 30%.
