A CFD model is used to simulate airflow and heat transfer in a building-ventilation solar chimney whose exit is partly closed by a cover plate, reducing the outlet area. Across a range of channel heights and gap widths, restricting the outlet is found to have a strong influence on the predicted Nusselt number.
