Summary

CFD simulations in ANSYS Fluent model a vertical solar chimney for building ventilation and heating while its inlet opening is progressively narrowed. Airflow stays nearly constant until the inlet shrinks past a critical fraction of the channel width, then falls steadily; air temperature rise grows as the opening narrows, and efficiency behaviour varies with the chimney's gap-to-height proportions, guiding inlet damper design.
