Summary

Computational fluid dynamics simulations of a solar chimney that warms a house assess what happens when warm enclosures are added beneath and on top of its airflow duct. Enclosure length and width, together with the chimney's gap width, largely govern how much air moves and how warm it becomes, and well-chosen enclosure sizes raise overall heating output.
