Summary

Uses CFD to model a solar chimney in which a horizontal air channel feeds continuously into a vertical one, testing two overall lengths at a single gap width and swapping the heated surface between the top and bottom walls. Which wall receives heat barely affects airflow, air heating or efficiency, so the upper-wall material can be chosen to suit local climate conditions.
