Summary
A steady-state heat balance model of a rooftop solar chimney, solved with an in-house MATLAB code, compares airflow driven by humid and dry air under varying humidity, air gap, ambient temperature and irradiation. Moist air gives roughly 10% more mass flow, a 45° tilt proves best for Bhubaneswar, India, and widening the glass–absorber gap strongly increases the flow rate.
