Summary
ANSYS CFD simulations, using a realizable k–ε model checked against Manzanares prototype measurements, examine how diverging the collector roof and chimney and fitting an exhaust fan at the chimney outlet affect a solar chimney power plant. A 2° divergence lifted power output by about 15% and also improved collector efficiency, while the outlet fan added roughly 12% more net power.
