Summary
Finite element simulations and cascade neural networks are compared for a solar chimney power plant fitted with combined water and soil thermal storage to reduce fluctuations in power output. The networks are tested on parameter sets left out of training, and the result is a prediction tool for assessing plant design and performance under operating scenarios outside the training database.
