Summary

Constructal Design is applied to a two-dimensional transient CFD model, solved in FLUENT with the k–ε turbulence model, of an inclined passive solar chimney wall serving a room. Two geometric ratios, the chimney base width over its height and the outlet gap over the base width, are varied, and both turn out to affect strongly the airflow driven through the building.
