Summary

A solar chimney power plant coupled with seawater desalination and assisted by a wind-driven ventilator at the chimney top is simulated numerically, with transient modelling of the ventilator and steady modelling of the power system. Desalination alone cuts electricity output, but suction from the ventilator restores and boosts it, adding about 14.7 kW and 30 g/h of freshwater at 800 W/m².
