Summary

Surveys ways of combining solar chimney power plants with desalination to co-produce electricity and freshwater, covering coupling with solar stills, condensers, membrane distillation, photovoltaics and waste heat. Reported gains include roughly 5 L/m² of daily water from chimney-assisted stills and 30–45% more annual energy from hybrid setups, though high capital costs remain an obstacle.
