Summary

CFD simulations of a wall-mounted solar chimney explore how inlet and outlet heights, with equal or unequal openings, shape the airflow in its cavity. Flow grows with opening height before levelling off; openings no taller than the air gap cut flow by about 27% when the left wall is heated and 85% when the right wall is, compared with the best layouts identified for each case.
