Summary
Computational fluid dynamics was used to test a solar chimney fitted to an orange storage warehouse, with the chimney oriented in 30° steps from south to east, and to map the airflow inside. On a wall, turning the chimney further east lessened the loss of flow rate. A roof-mounted chimney could ventilate during the day, and the system cooled the stored oranges by about 1.3 °C.
